Selling Information To Informants

Writen by Lance Winslow

If you hold information you hold knowledge and power and it is worth something, but how much? Well we know from intrinsic valuations that something is worth whatever someone else will give you for it. But how much will they give you? Ah ha, now you see why selling information can be such a tricky job and why it can be such a lucrative career. The key is to finding who needs the information most and what they are willing to pay you for it. Then you must make protect the information so you can sell it again.

Selling information can be a difficult endeavor indeed. And once you have some one purchase your information you then have established a price. Too many people sell their information too cheaply, either because they do not understand its value or do not value it themselves. Those who sell information need to find out the needs and desires of the prospects and work from there and look for a high price point.

For those who have done much negotiation and sales they are most suited for the selling of information and will find a good paying commission base if they can perform. Have you considered how you sell information in your company? Are you giving it away too cheaply? Perhaps you need to hone your sales skills and get what that information is worth? Consider this in 2006.
